Thermal Transfer Ribbons

Ribbons and Label Materials

The ribbons used in thermal transfer printers play an important role and the selection of the best ribbon for your application is critical.

When printing using a thermal transfer printer, a thermal print head applies heat to the ribbon, which melts ink onto the label material to form the image. The ink is absorbed so that the image becomes part of the material. This technique provides image quality and durability that is unmatched by other on-demand printing technologies.

The type of label material that you are printing on will have an influence on the type of ribbon that is required.

At Longcombe Labels we have over 30 years experience of helping our customers choose the correct ribbon / label material combination.  Get in touch if you would like some help with this.
